How fast does it light?
Instafire has a light time of ½ to1 second, depending on the humidity and type of match or lighter used it can take up to 3 seconds. It will light similar to lighting an ordinary candle and slowly build in intensity.

How much fire does it produce?
½ cup (the amount in 1 single use pouch) of InstaFire produces a 8-10 inch high flame for 10-15 minutes depending on conditions. If you need a longer burn time, simply add more Instafire.
Can I light Instafire with a magnesium striker?
Yes, InstaFire normally requires a heat source of higher than 425 degrees like a match or a lighter, however if you scrape off a little of the magnesium then spark it – the magnesium will light and then light the Instafire.
Can I use Instafire in my fireplace or wood burning stove?
Yes, InstaFire is so safe, you can use it in your fireplace and wood stove. It will light similar to a candle with no flareups and gradually grow in intensity. It will easily dry out wet wood and create the proper draw up the chimney or flue.
Is Instafire dangerous - Will it explode?
InstaFire is NOT a combustible, therefore there is no explosive hazard, due to the wax substance it is recommended that Instafire be kept in a cool dry place or the wax will melt above 150 degrees.
Will Instafire boil water & can I cook with it?
Yes, ½ cup of InstaFire will boil 2 cups of water in 15 minutes or less. Recommend using a lid on your pot for a faster boil. It is also safe to cook food and 1 cup of InstaFire will burn for 20 – 30 minutes, with occasionally stirring, and burn at nearly 1000 degrees. Just allow proper ventilation to flame.
